Ok, so by the title of this series I’m sure you’re wondering why in the world is she in a metal box? Don’t worry, I’m not trying to become a magician, I’m referring to my living quarters.
Here’s the lowdown:
Last year I decided to go back to my contracting job overseas, while the decision was a no-brainer for a few goals I have, it wasn’t easy convincing my family and friends that it was a good choice, especially since I had just settled in D.C. I’ve been here almost a year now and dorm life isn’t too bad. Ok, I’m being nice. Living in dorms as a grown person in their 30s, with a roommate, community restrooms/showers, not your average work-week hours, and the “awesome” Dining Facility ( I miss the Juice/Clean Eating Life), can be quite “interesting”. The thing I have keeping me motivated is that I came out here with goals in mind and sacrificing the comforts of home just comes with the territory.
Anyway, Life in a Metal Box will be another way of keeping up wit the day-to-day happenings while I’m out here. From how I deal with the craziness of weather (especially with my allergies/dirt, dust, and heat) to how much I absolutely love the Internet service out here, as in not.at.all, but hey, at least we do have internet.
The day-job can be quite time & energy consuming, so as much as I want to post everyday, this is my disclaimer that it just won’t happen. For now look forward to posts at least twice a month, it may be under this series or a different category but there will be a post regardless. I’m looking forward to sharing what I can and when I can from here.
xoxo’s from somewhere over there in a metal box.
