Getaway Day 1:
Today is the first full day of my Costa Rican getaway and I decided to take a walk along the beach at 5:30ish in the morning summed up in a word…REFRESHING.
After my refreshing morning walk, I decided to sit out on the front porch of my bungalow and watch EAT, PRAY, LOVE and enjoy the moment. It’s humid out, but so green and lush. There’s a slight breeze I’m loving and even if my face doesn’t show it, which happens to be a common occurrence, I’m in an amazing relaxed state of mind and reflecting on a great deal.
My goal for today: only do what I want, which at the moment is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Maybe the Supermarket, Sharky’s or Burger Shack later on. Oh and I definitely need get the Wi-Fi password from the front desk…lol, I do still have my priorities in check.
I can tell you this much, this personal getaway is long overdue, I haven’t had one like it since I was stationed in Alaska (almost 10 years ago). Of course going on trips with friends or loved ones are great ideas as well, we need companionship and the opportunity to share moments in life. However, we should all take some alone time, that time off to not stress about what anyone else’s needs are but our own and RELAX, when we can. A physical, mental, and emotional getaway so to speak.
Ok, your turn…My charge to you.
While you have a moment, think back to the last time you took some time to yourself; you know to be with yourself and enjoy your own company. How long has it been? What did you enjoy about it most? Do you feel it’s high time you do it again. Your getaway doesn’t have to include a trip to another country, state or city, it could be just a few hours of quiet reflection or even a weekend at a local Bed & Breakfast. Whatever you are capable of doing for a getaway make it count; your mind, body, and spirit will thank you for it.
More later…maybe. Ta ta for now!
