Hi! I’m Tee and welcome to The Phoenix Chronicles
This space was created for female veterans who have or who are preparing transition from active duty to civilian life. I found from my own transition and interactions with fellow female veterans, that we often go through similar situations; not exact, but similar, and felt that it would be beneficial to share my own journey in hopes that it will help others.
Why the Phoenix?
The mythical Phoenix represents continuous re-birth and change, and only the Phoenix knew when it was time for its current life to end and start anew. TPC takes this mindset of change and approaches life’s transitions from a female veteran perspective. Only you know when you’re ready for a change, right?
What to expect from the Chronicles:
Some of the topics here are funny and some are quite serious, just remember this is a judge free zone.
Buddy Check, focuses on the mental, spiritual, physical well-being aspect, and taking the time to check in with you. It’s always nice to know there’s someone who may be going through the same things in life.
Permission to Advance, is a category that focuses on career, education, personal goals, and travel. Whether you’ve separated due to the end of your service agreement (like me) or you’ve retired, your next chapter will be just as awesome as the last…as long you are giving yourself permission to move forward.
Phoenix Style, is my take on beauty, fashion, and most importantly being an unapologetically free-spirited woman. From accepting my curves ( not stressing about them), embracing my unique style (kinda’ nerdy, kinda’ feminine, sorta’ sporty), to no longer being intimidated by makeup, unique hair cuts & colors. If it moves me, I’m going for it. FYI, pink is usually involved.
There are also those random happenings that occur from chapter to chapter of life, these fall under Plume Shenanigans .
While the voice of The Phoenix Chronicles is that of a female veteran, the experiences are also for anyone moving from one amazing chapter of life to another.
Thanks for stopping by,
